Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust

In preparation for our visit to SILURIAN research boat next week Jenny and Zoe from the HWDT visited to school and ran workshops for children in P5-7.  The children learned about the characteristics, feeding habits and habitats preferred by CETACEANS (scientific name for whales, dolphins and porpoises) living around the west coast of Scotland.  The children were very interested throughout the sessions and asked lots of very good questions.

Next week Jenny and Zoe will be back to show our children around the SILURIAN when it docks at Ullapool Harbour, everyone is very excited!  Incidentally, the Silurian was used to film the BBC’s Blue Planet series before it was bought by the HWDT.
