Farm Education

We were fortunate today to be visited by Daisy the Cow and her three helpers who showed the children in P3-7 where their food comes from.  The children learned about dairy cattle, milking a cow by machine and by hand, making butter from double cream, growing cereals (oats, wheat, barley and rapeseed), grinding and milling cereals, what each cereal is used for, cuts of meat from sheep and cattle, breeds of sheep and cattle, wool and a whole lot more!  They were very informative and interesting workshops.  Thank you to Lucy, Maggie and Donald from Royal Highland Education Trust for coming to our school to teach us.
